My first effort was plain basmati rice, but I later experimented by adding coconut and sweet corn and the end product was delicious too. maybe a rice Genie?

5 cups of water and place the cooker in the microwave for 12 mins. I've Never been able to make rice properly, I'm not even a very good cook.

I put 250gms of rice & 500mls of boiling water then put in microwave for 3 x minutes then stirred then back in microwave for another 3 x minutes & stirred then again for 4 x minutes ! It is better than the rice that comes pre cooked in microwave pouches or trays and so much cleaner and easier than using a saucepan on the hob.

For my family of 4, using a 900w microwave:2 cups of basmati rice, rinsed. You can wash the rice in the bowl and the inner pressure lid works great as a sieve to drain off the water.

I found the feet on mine were a bit too pointy and smooth meaning it would slip around the microwave platter so just took a file and shaved off a couple of mm off each foot to flatten them and roughen them a bit. Done!
