Solid material, great to see from the top what goes on inside it, feels very sturdy. You may find your opinion is completely different. It has a thermo spot inside which informs when the correct temperature is reached.

It does weigh a lot, 1. So I'm on the side of the modernists, this is by no means a cheap wok, but its a very well designed and constructed wok, easy to use and clean it should do sterling service for many years. Heat distribution is good and wok-like in that it is still possible to push ingredients to the sides if you want to keep them out of the hottest part of the pan.

Its definitely worth the value and will last for years providing you clean it appropriately and look after it. Although it's dishwasher safe, I've just been washing it in the sink since it's so easy and I'm paranoid about the maelstrom of the dishwasher damaging or discolouring the surface.

This is because it has a flat bottom. This wok distributes heat evenly. Remember to be careful when you take it out, you will need a silicone cover for the handles.
