There are so many aspects to the Revolt of 1857 that we were unaware of, and this book has done an extraordinary job of putting things into perspective. I love the writing style of William Dalrymple, after reading the first few chapters, you will get the nuance that the writer is living at the moment, and written in his diary and later on published it.

Such a good book and also the sad story of the last Mughal. His love for history, especially Indian history, has been appreciated by many renowned people globally. It brings out the facts and incidents in chronological order and makes it extremely easy for the readers to embrace the bitter reality of not only the downfall of the Mughal dynasty but also the destruction of a beautiful city - Delhi. The Last Mughal is the first book to comprehensively present the Indian perspective on the fall of Delhi and the Mughal Dynasty.

Greatly written and well reserached book , go for it if you are a History Lover. This book is no different. The book is surprisingly in better condition than I expected.
