The outer colour of pen has no bearing on the ink. Refills are available in black and blue so the ink colour can be changed according to your needs. That’s huge for her!

First try wasn’t perfect, but much better (see photo). They come with a refill which can be changed by unscrewing narrow end of pen. The Stabilo pen was purchased to help my child with her pencil grasp. Side note: This pen may be a good choice for those with arthritis or carpal tunnel.

Anyways, she finished her handwriting worksheets without changing her grasp. This was bought for my 82 year old mum. Too bulky or awkward.

We tried those pencil grips and my child couldn’t do those. The refills are sold in multi packs which cost less than pen, making it good value in the long run. She’s about to start OT and I’ll be sharing this pen with her new therapist. She has recovered from a stroke last year but still sometimes fumbles with her fine motor skills.

She has reported that the fatter design of the main body of the pen with strategically placed grooves for the middle finger and thumb makes gripping easier and gives more fluid control of writing. ! I used this pen and I noticed I’m not pushing down as hard and my hand wasn’t tiring as usual. I have both and always have hand pain.
