I also have an inexpensive USB 3. While disappointment can happen, this is not the case. 0 Micro-B" type connector so you need to be sure to include it in your travel bag. No need to say anything else.

The screen grab is from a test with a card rated at 150 MB/s read and 90 MB/s write. The provided cable has the SuperSpeed logo on the connector (so it does comply to USB 3 standards) and a quick test proved that with this thing is possible to match the advertised speeds. .

A well constructed unit - features a push to close, buttons on the side to pop open to access the SD and CF slots.
