The death of Albert Frazer finds Elizabeth taking control of the line and beginning a romance with one of her captains. Originally transmitted: 25/04/1976 – 27/06/1976. Although the Age of Steam is coming fast, James is still investing in sail ships – does he know something others don’t? And, while James is spending more time with Charlotte and her governess, is his hard-heartedness about to lose him his only real friend? From 1971 to 1980, millions followed the drama and spectacle of this lavishly filmed television series following the trials and triumphs, loves and betrayals, adventures and disasters of James, his family and others in the Onedin Line fleet and boardroom. Due to the archive nature of the footage, sound and picture quality may vary. Five years have passed and it is now 1875.

I know it has me. Anyone who has an interest in the big tea clipper ships and those last days of sail must see this series. It is expensive, but this Drama will give you hours of enjoyment.
If you are thinking about buying "The Onedin Line" you will not be disapointed. This is without doubt the greatest TV Drama series ever to be on TV,thank goodness for the Dutch,who have done this complete eight series on DVD they have good taste in drama,dont be bothered about the Dutch subtittles they can be taken off the screen easy. "The Onedin Line" is so gripping to watch that since owning this series on DVD i have watched it through twice.
Absolutely Outstanding 👏 Of all the 1970s dramas,(and there are a lot of very good ones)this is the greatest of them all.
And beleive me, you will want the complete eight series.
