The stowing hook should be used with the open side facing up, otherwise the ladder is likely to slip off the hook which may cause injury. Ladder: It's very light weight and a bit rattly (if that's even a word).

Fast forward 3 days and I managed to board the central part of the loft and even installed a light. I'm just under 90 kg and feel confident climbing up and down. The 5 years warranty is there should it break.

Installation: It couldn't have taken any more than 45 minutes to install the ladder. Assembly: Frankly, it took more time trying to understand the instructions than the actual assembly which was minimal because I didn't need to install the included hatch catch/lock. The timber types would require a new hatch and cutting into the ceiling, something I couldn't imagine being able to do myself. There's a guide sticker on the side of the ladder which I'd suggest following.

BUT this ladder still represent, IMHO, money's worth. It said to support 150 kg and I wouldn't doubt it.
After getting a few quotes to get the loft boarded with ladder & light, I looked up if DIY for a first timer was practical. The steps/rungs aren't deep and wearing flex sole footwear helps.
The ladder angle is to be adjusted when fixing it to the loft floor. Another reviewer has written about the ladder coming off the sliding rail if stowed away speedily. So extensive googling (or Amazoing, at least a part) landed me here.
