I do still feel the chicken version is hotter and more flavourful, perhaps a little less sweetness in both of them would make them delightful. But the spicyness doesn’t ruin the taste of them. Flavour is off the charts, chicken and sweetness perfected.

Not as hot as I initially suspected, but they definitely have a hot kick. The heat builds up.

They are also nice with a handful of frozen prawns in with the noodles / or direct to wok whilst the noodles are cooking. But if you do order, please check korean stores online- you may just get them for the same price or maybe cheaper, and they will have 5 packs or whatever’s advertised 😂 since you’re buying from a credible* retailer.

They are absolutely amazing! Spicy yes, but pleasant and enjoyable for someone who enjoys spicy food, perhaps like a good Madras Curry.

I recommend leaving abit of water still in the them for when you mix the sauce in as otherwise they would be dry, it does say to do that on the instructions though! We have also had a couple of dozen packets of the 2x spicy ones (in the red packet) same manufacturer, but supplied via another vendor that does a 12 for price of 10), now those noodles are quite spicy and definitely leave a good tingle on the tongue and make the nose run.

Just make sure you throw some stock into the wok when transferring the noodles or they stick (even with oil). Others like it sticky over everything with nothing in the bottom. The general view is if you want a real blast, go 2x spicy (red) but if you want a quick lunch without too much drama.

I must have made these wrong the first time, its hot just about bearable for someone that's used to spicy food, would be unbearable for most, don't know if its the covid making me like it more but it was a very welcome heat since I can't taste nothing. Alternately throw in some peas with the noodles and cook them at the same time for a bit of colour. . They advertise for five to be sold, however, I only received four.
