Lasted about 4-5 hours before needing to be “topped up. Great buy also! Not sure if I’ll buy it again, might be better local deals, I just didn’t have time to go searching. It lights well, has decent flavor, and burns cleanly for a long time.

The picture results from the bbq speak for themselves. I used this for a 14 hour smoked pork shoulder roast on my Big Green Egg. This is exactly what I needed!

Usually piece or two are too large for my 22” Weber, and probably would be for many larger grills too. I was undecided about this lump charcoal, received three replies to my question about the actual weight, two “it’s great” and one “it’s the devil!

but it’s best to always try to use the best, and Kamado Joe XL remains one of them despite this lonesome rock I found in probably over 500 pieces I’ve burned. Put it on a digital scale and it came in at 21.

Some brands like Cowboy ‘Lumps’ have used plywood, etc *accidentally-I think. So I have to break them up with a hammer. For the price/lb, this is probably one of the better buys for lump charcoal.
