We kept few feet away from the bed. The picture quality is very good, along with the features. By default the nursery unit wants the wireless movement sensor pad, so it does start beeping loud.

The wireless movement sensor pad, in my opinion, is helpful if your child is a new born or within 1 year. You will need to press the pause button for it to not sense the sensor pad. I love the monitor itself, it's a great size and the image quality is good.

Or if you want to deactivate it, like I did (since I don't want to use it), you can do it through menu of Parent unit. Would recommend. The pack comes with everything you need, including batteries and charging cables. It comes with a magnetic mount, that you can attach to the wall or stand up on a bedside table.

I hope you found my review in making the decision to buy or not. If you are using sensor pad, make sure every-time you take the baby out of the crib you press the pause button on the nursery unit, or else it will start beeping. When it comes to baby monitors and cameras, its important to find the right one for your needs as well as your babies needs. And kept the portable parent unit in our living room.
The length of the cable is more than enough to reach the socket. Sensitivity settings for the sensor pad can be adjusted as well. You are able to set up multiple cameras and sync them to your main handheld screen.
