About this deal

Product description

Quick and easy to replace by simple twisting the valve a quarter turn to expose the old washer With the flush valve's design you need not worry about removing the entire cistern to service the valve in future, just simply twist the valve in an anticlockwise direction and the whole top mechanism just lifts right out. Your old washer once removed will have visible ribs imprinted into the rubber. This is perfectly normal as the washer forms to the inside shape of the inlet valve body once compressed in and used Replacement QT washer for the popular quarter turn SV Univalve fitted to many Armitage shanks and Ideal Standard cisterns. FixTheBog Replacement for Ideal Standard SV01967 Dual Flushvalve Seal and Clip All that is needed then is to twist clip the new valve into place (or the same valve if you're just replacing the base seal), connect the push button or flush plate and you're ready to go. Simply disconnect the pneumatic tube that it attached to your push button and blow down the tube. Quite often it can be this bellows washer, over time the washer may develop small fractures in it's surface as it's constantly expanding and contracting, therefore not keeping the air contained and not expanding enough to lift the flush valve assembly. Slightly different in design to the original ‘older’ Hushflow washer by the additional rim seal on the base

THE BOTTOM LINE: even if your valve looks pristine, chances are it's shrunk and is no longer sealing properly. Now I've just got to wait for the toilet roll shortage of 2020 to calm down, then I can enjoy a normal toilet/person partnership again. The diaphragm comes with a new retaining clip. The Ideal Standard Syphons arent the cheapest, but this is all you need to fix.

I added pictures, old and new. Some generic instructions inside on how to replace the washer. Tip - you don't have to turn off the water. Isolate water to toilet.

Two toilets started to have trickling water, fitted them both with this and it’s sorted the problem. Prised out the old clip and the washer pops out.

If I'd known how simple it was to fix, I'd have sorted this issues out way before, only having been prompted after a water reading meaning my bill jumped from £25 to £80 per month. The attached photo shows the old valve sat on top of the new replacement valve. I now have a quiet toilet.

Installing the new valve fixed the leak immediately. So despite the flapper valve being free of contaminants and fitting snuggly into the hole at the bottom of the cistern, it still appeared to be the culprit. On inspection of the current flush mechanism, the flapper valve was fairly encrusted in limescale. Fit perfectly and save me a lot of money with the plumber.

The valve comes with a single A6 sheet of instructions (see photo) but, apart from a flat-bladed screwdriver to remove the clip from the old seal, that's really all you need. This toilet was installed new around two years ago, so maybe I ought to stock up on these for the next time it inevitably shrinks! Order arrived quickly and well wrapped. If you want to replace yourself, just check in youtube, is easier than you expect.

Michael

Perfect fit and did the job perfectly. Thanks. For me it was a slight push down on the flush assembly and a quarter turn. (Plenty of Vids on YT if you're unsure).
