What a plot! Didnt really know what to expect from this novel. The dynamics between couple their in late twenties, Kit and Melia, and couple in their late forties, Clare and Jamie worked brilliantly.

The couples keep friends and chat constantly but there is that resentment that rises and crashes from then on in. I had previously read The swimming Pool but had forgotten it was by the same author.

I couldn’t put it down! I have read a few books by Louise Candlish and this was definitely my favourite! The police also have reasons to believe Jamie wants him dead. What makes it worse is that their last time together, there was a fight at the pre-Christmas drinks.

A commute on the river was a nice premise and someone going missing on the morning run? The plot was great and I didnt see some of the twists and turns coming. Age gaps problems too. I was happy to read a thriller so unique in its premise and denouement.

The investigation continues and the police investigate Jamie and his wife, Kit and his wife, and their friendships. First class writing and I was involved in every character- lovely and twisty - buy it!

The year unfolds and reveals some rather surprising secrets that only fuel the suspicion surrounding Jamie's involvement in Kit's disappearance. I am quite familar with the area and love anything set in London despite being a northerner. My first book by this author and WOW.
