I truly had no idea who the killer was until the very end. Admittedly, I was nervous going into this one because readers seemed to have either loved it or hated it, but I am glad I purchased the book anyway because it's one of my favorite mysteries of the year!

You never know who to trust or who to be suspicious of. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking to be wrapped up into a cant put it down all night read. This book was fantastic.

I was really disturbed when we found out about Gwen's past and it definitely turned me away from her as a character. The characters were fabulously interesting. So clever, unputdownable and well plotted! It also saved me few dollars from buying brand new book.

TW: violence, murder, discussion of rape, child deathIn all honesty I did struggle initially with the writing and trying to keep track of all the characters; we get introduced to them one by one and learn something small about their background to give us an idea of who they are. The only thing I am disappointed about is that now I've read all her books and I'll have to wait for more! Shari Lapena has written a fast paced, edge of your seat mystery that is character driven and filled with the sense of unease. It was very reminiscent of Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient (whom is an all time favourite!
