I really want to like this bagel cutter. I cut my fingernail off trying to use a knife with a bagel.

Whilst sliced bagels are available, for the freshest taste, bagels should be sliced just before they are served. It still is manageable, though.

It takes a sharp knife to slice a bagel and bagels have a hard slippery surface so there is an ever-present risk of hand injury, especially when preparing breakfast. The Bagel Guillotine looks to be robustly constructed and should last many years. I have received no compensation for my review nor do I have any relationship with the seller or manufacturer of this product. Then you have to use fork to push the slices out.

The one way it could be improved would be to incorporate a crumb catcher as the breadcrumbs will fall out of the bottom of the device when it is used. We bought two dozen assorted bagels from our local bakery. It all depends on how you place them in the slicer. It is worth every penny since it performs perfectly.

The blade guard worked well to ensure that this operation was performed safely. I absolutely love this product. This is so much safer. For people asking if this product will fit thick bagels I have include photos to show you that it does fit a very thick large bagel purchased from a local bagel shop.

I am reviewing it solely because I want to share my experience with other potential customers. I tried the thick bagels from a local bagel shop and it works with these. This is one of those devices that you buy and wonder why you haven’t bought it many years earlier. I was formerly sawing my sourdough bagels with a bread knife and knocking off about 1/2 the seasoning.
