I think this book was eye opening & really makes you want to prevent the problems Lauren & Ryan had. It’s believable and realistic. The marriage in trouble aspect gave me All Your Perfects vibes and if y’all follow me y’all know that is my favorite book of all time! the reality of relationships failing.

Was recommended this book by a friend (even though I’m not huge into reading but do enjoy it occasionally). I really enjoyed getting to know this family and how they worked as a unit. The idea of a year out to discover yourself is probably a road many have taken. It’s a second chance, marriage in trouble book—2 of my favorites.

There’s no perfect formula to love, and this book explores that “life” happens no matter what in all of our lives. Whether you're single, married, divorced, separated etc, it doesn't matter, you'll be into the characters, they'll make you laugh or cry or angry and you'll feel heartbroken and happy with them. ‘Isn’t it nice, once you’ve outgrown the ideas of what life should be and just enjoy what it is’That is definitely one of my favourite sentences in the book, it is so so true of so many of our lives and the struggles people face. WHY IS THIS BOOK NOT TAYLOR JENKINS REID’S MOST POPULAR BOOK?

I’m married and I think that’s why this book hit so hard—I couldn’t imagine us growing apart so much that we literally couldn’t stand to be around each other. Lauren & Ryan met when they were in college and everything about them fit together so perfectly.
