I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT! The ending of the novel was somewhat surprising and unexpected but certainly a tearjerker that pulled the story together to a good end, always so important with novels of this genre. 5* from me.

WARNING - This book causes leaky eye syndrome 😢 and I highly advise not having a mouthful of tea when you get to “the full cactus” bit - I nearly ruined my book 🤦🏻♀️I love Dawn French and just about everything she does and I stand in solidarity with her on the whole #jamfirst debacle 😂 Her novels are exquisite and if you haven’t read anything of hers yet I’d highly recommend any and all of them. Dawn had me laughing, crying and feeling angry. X Loved the writing style, some chapters described moments others captured years.

Utterly brilliant. Fast forward 18 years and as the story unwinds your heart will swell and break with equal measure. I found the last few chapters of the book as the story was drawing to an end the most interesting. A beautifully touching book with some laugh out loud bits too!

I would now like to read her other works. In desperation Hope steals Anna’s daughter from the hospital ward and brings her up as her own daughter. By chapter 4 I was hooked, the most emotional rollercoaster of a book I have ever read (I read it in 3 days and was crying towards the end).

A book of feelings, relationships and love. Well deserved. Two women Anna and Hope have children together at the same hospital at the same time as the old millennium turns to the new. I absolutely loved this book.
