I would gladly have paid more money just to get a complete set of all the major components. Not the end of the world, but if you want your young kid to be entertained while you read a good book, this won’t cut it. Our experience was absolutely wonderful with all of the parts. After about 20 minutes of learning how everything fits together, they built a robot (“JUNKBOT”) and then another.

The main reason I can’t give five stars is that, as other reviews mention, many pieces are simply too difficult for even a 5-year-old to put together. I had to take quick pictures before they disassembled to make other Junk Bots.

We plan to buy another container in hopes to get the motor module that spins. Don’t get me wrong, I like collectible things in general, such as collectible card games, miniatures, etc. My 5 and 8 year old daughter enjoyed the opening of the surprise box but LOVED the trash inside. One day when he becomes a mechanical engineer and starts building real robots, maybe he’ll stumble across this review on Amazon 😂

I purchased 3 of the larger sets - 1 for each of my 3 grandsons 5 yrs, 8 yrs and 12 years old. Instead of receiving a red light up module, we received a green light up module. Pro: We were pleasantly surprised by the robots.

Also, they thought the little pile of poop was hilarious. We got ours last night!

The extra touch of adding little trash boxes and trash bags fit nicely into the daily play of the LOL dolls. Lots of moving parts. These are fun, but none of the little balls could fit to snap for the head on the large body part for the Rev robot. Cons: We only had ONE “robot face” and the plastic naturally breaks after repeated use and remodelling.

So this concept is perfect: modular robots you can create according to a schematic and also piece together according to your imagination. They were extremely excited to unpack, take inventory of their “junk” and begin building. I accidentally bent two pieces trying to make them fit. ) love these junkbots.
