Definitely not the case with this tome! The alternating chapter format – Strike’s POV, Robin’s POV, three channel chats - kept my attention and the pages turning. Really Amazon, you need to do much better by your authors and customers.

The conversation pages can be confusing. My only bugbears were the distracting quotes at the start of each chapter and the unnecessarily prolific use of the c-word (I’m not a tweeter but accept this might be a fair representation of twitter trolling)! I don’t like doing this as I read mostly in bed at night, when I’ve already put my iPad away. As ever with Strike books, it's well written and intriguing.

These sections are key to the plot and I liked the use of them, so hopefully a fix can be found. Plus, it's incredibly heavy!
