It takes her to a secret land called Narnia. In this story set in the time of war four siblings Lucy, Edmund, Peter and Susan are evacuated to the countryside to stay in the home of an old professor. Whilst playing hide and seek Lucy hides in a wardrobe and discovers inside is an entrance to a whole other place. Bit of a shame the outer cover isn’t perfect.

Meeting talking animals along the way they have to save themselves and the land from an evil witch as well as eventually getting back home. They may be children's books but they are very magical and lovely and super enjoyable to read. This was such a great read and I would definitely urge anyone who hasn't tried these books before to consider reading them. I read the prequel The Magician's Nephew first and I'm glad I did as I already knew of Queen Jadis, Aslan and the land of Narnia.

I wasn't expecting the pace to be so quick and exciting. This was so fast paced. After only a few pages we were introduced to magical characters and an enchanting world. Of course her older siblings don't believe her, but when they all end up arriving in Narnia (after hiding from the housekeeper inside the magical wardrobe) they realise this world actually does exist.
