It made short work of the job and gave a very precise cut, even against the grain using StewMac's bearing guided router bit. It is very easy to set to the correct height and use. There were lots of positive reviews about it already and I can only add to them. I had this body CNC cut at a not inconsiderable expense so I was understandably apprehensive about tackling this.
My very first rout was a 2 mm wide by 4 mm deep edge rebate on a 3/4 size solid mahogany electric guitar body which, by nature of being smaller than a normal guitar, had quite tight radii at the horns/neck heel area. I would strongly recommend this tool to any amateur or professional luthier, or tradesperson who wants to use it for its main purpose: trimming laminated boards. It is superbly made with a cast aluminium body.
I needn't have been! I bought this specifically for routing edge rebates in guitar bodies for applying binding/purfling after a recommendation from a local luthier to buy a laminate trimmer/router.
