The result is Maker's Mark 46: bolder and more complex, but without the bitterness typical of longer-aged whiskies. The first new Makers Mark recipe for at least 50 years, Maker's 46 is named for the number of different wood 'recipes' they tried before getting it right. But then it takes a bold twist. It starts with fully matured Maker’s Mark straight out of the barrel. Made using the innovative wood-stave-finishing process they fully mature at cask strength and then insert 10 seared virgin French oak staves into the barrel and finish it for nine weeks in their limestone cellar.

If you've been drinking standard Jack and fancy a change upgrade you can't go wrong with Makers 46What a truly great bourbon. Fast delivery without damage! It has a caramelly smell to it and the taste is smooth and has a nice smokeyness to it. Nice very smooth buttery and slightly sweet (not sickly).

I personally like it with a couple of drops of water it gives a full mouth feel and flavours just linger. It's a matter of taste, this whiskey is a bit tart, stick with my own brand that has a fruity taste note!

Prefer Maker's Mark, that's why this whiskey was chosen for testing. My mum can't stand Whisky or bourbon but actually loves this, so that's a story in itself. Is it worth the extra price compared to standard makers mark ? I got my first bottle on Amazon subscription for a truly amazing price.
More than a sip
I say yes but that's just MY personal choice. Its dangerously moreish so watch out. Absolutely love it.
45%vol makes this drink very universal as in ; nice to drink neat can take a few drops of water also handles ice well and makes cocktails that bit nicer and even handles coke if that's your thing.
