5mm stereo adapter which is about 1)cm in length. As these have a standard 3. I recommend for those who don't want to buy everything and keep their headphones. Firstly you need to remove the batteries from your controller.

The 3. Just plug them into the headset adapter and they work great, even with the controller on the charge lead. Once you have done this the Xbox One will automatically advise you that the controller will be updated. 5mm connection designed for the Xbox360.

I opted to wait for this official headset adapter instead of trying out the 3rd party version that have appeared on auction sites. The instruction provided could have been made a bit clearer insofar that they are printed on a small piece of paper in very small writing. I give it 4 stars as it does exactly the job it should for me.
But thanks to it no need, you just need to plug your headphones into the jack adapter for that, 3. Then plug the USB lead into the USB port on the side of the Xbox One and the micros USB end of the lead needs to go into the front of your battery-less controller. In the package, in addition to the adapter, there is a cable to be able to use old headsets with a 2. You do need to read them to understand how to update your controller's firmware.
