Guess what, you need to put batteries in the remote. I used a 7/32" with a little wiggling, but I'm sure a 1/4" drill bit would work too. She like the temp cold and the ceiling fan helps a lot at nights.

Only took about 20-30 mins, including installing the remote to the wall. Allen Roth fan had been in the job for a little over a year, then it stopped working. Great value for what you get. Makes it much more functional.

However, because the canopy was very small, I had to cut the hot and cold wires from the box as well as the fan wires to just about 4 inches long so that the wires could fit inside the canopy. Do not use the regular wire nuts that are already in the box, they take too much space.
