I agree with the other reviewer about Chaske Spencer: this performance should catapult him into the upper echelons of Hollywood, he is absolutely mesmerising. To see her character arrive as an English Lady and then adapt & develop into a woman who faces the brutality of the Old West head-on and fight back is inspiring. The writing, the acting, the cinematography, the music, the storyline that comes together with the help of flashbacks, are all absolute perfection. But I was hooked on this less than halfway through the 1st episode.
I don't like period drama. Pay attention in the 2nd episode when they are confronted by 3 men on horseback: the action scene that follows is epic. I don't like westerns. Chaske Spencer and Emily Blunt's on-screen chemistry is electrifying to watch.
I have already watched this from start to finish 3 times over: it's that good ☺️
