It will take some tinkering on my part to figure it out but will post pics or a video on my solution. If it still is noisy turn it off, keep it totally under water and open it up and make sure no air is tripped in the head by up ended it a few times. ) to use as the filter floss. If you do what I did using your own substitute, you shouldn't have to worry much about these things.

I got this as a Amazon Warehouse Deal (I'm hooked on bargains) to filter an aquarium my mate gave me (28ltr/7gal) and it does work clearing up the water quite well. I purchased this after my filter that came with the tank had stopped working.
