Now again after 18 months the generator part of the replacement iron works but not the thermostat of the iron. they are expensive items and you expect them to at least last the 2 years!
Water fill/disposal is simple (there are two distinct chambers for fresh and used water) and the instructions are easy to follow. When I rang Murphy Richards it was no longer under guarantee because your replacement starts off when your first one ended. Then I bought another Tefal it lasted about 5 years so I had my money worth. Where is their SAVE THE PLANET terms?
My third was a let down from Tefal but it still lasted a good few years! The black and red complement each other and no matter what colour your kitchen/utility room this iron makes a positive statement.
Very easy to use, self descales, looks good. Finding the correct pressing setting is easier than many irons I've used; I was impressed by the accuracy of the dial.
So. It had a 2 year guarantee so I was sent a replacement. it did not catch fire but it just went BANG and then it was dead. Ask my husband, he would say it's my overriding phobia, so any appliance which minimises limescale immediately gets my vote before I even open the box.
