i absolutely loved this book and the other books in this series were amazing. I blame Cal btw. Has anyone else had this happen? This was definitely my favourite book of the series.

This was the first book that I preferred Cal. Maven is a brilliant villain because even though he is morally black, I can't help but feel a little sympathy for him. I honestly can't decide whether or not I like Jon.

I also loved that we got a few chapters from Cal and Maven! I really enjoyed reading this book and I'm so glad I finally got to this series. And the worst kind of darknessThere were some hilarious moments in this book, especially in Montfort. She’s in gifted 8th grade and with a heavy workload she didn’t get to this book until late November.

It was fascinating to see Maven trying to figure out what was going on, and both Mare and Cal provoking him. Either way -super disappointed. She got to page 600 and was at an intense part when she started reading the next page and realized she was reading the end of the dramatic scene instead of the middle!

He definitely redeemed himself and made the right choices in the end. Pages 601 through 632 were missing! The ending of the book was written perfectly for the characters, and I applaud Victoria for not writing something simply for the sake of readers. The book appeared to be bound this way.
