Sounded like a hose softly hitting metal. Multiple episodes of jacking up car and checking/securing bolts, bushings, sways, fuel tank straps, sheet metal shields, bumper clips, trunk bump stops, exhaust tips, brake hoses, etc. Included velcro straps were a must for securing the transmitters.

Looking forward to using it more often. The other brand is over $400 for the same kit I'm glad I got the wireless version.

I asked a tool truck driver if steelman makes Matcos chassis ear and he says they do. The Chassis Ear found the hidden culprit. Let me find an intermittent, soft clink that had eluded me despite 6 weeks of trying to locate the noise source. In a single, instrumented test drive, one of the microphones, the one I attached to sway bar, picked up the noise source.
This tool works pretty well, cannot say about longevity. That connection was tight enough that pushing and pulling the sway bar ends manually elicited no noise nor apparent motion. It was the connection between sway bar and link stud. The Steelman Chassis Ear picked it readily.
I had previously ruled out the sway bar because manual test with manually stressing the bar ends made zero audible sound and it felt solid. Very basic compared to other expensive detectors that requires computer/Android/IPhone & downloading etc.
Tightend up the sway link to bar and no more clink noise! Transmitter on/off slide switches are very difficult to slide. It was totally worth the cost to get rid of the infuriating clink. Other than that the system was of reasonable build.
