There are settings for mic distance (near/far) and various other tone-based setting options. I went for the MV7. It’s also useful that one can act as a back-up should the other fail. I will say after over a years’ worth of constant use, I have had no issues with the mic or the connections and have absolutely no regrets in purchasing this microphone and would do so again.

Online user guide and free software at shure. You have access to the Shure companion App for this mic which lets you adjust the sound of the mic along with headphone monitoring. You may wish to invest in a gain booster/cloud lifter, but if using something like the Rodecaster Pro 2, you won’t need one. The phantom power (only 5V) made virtually no difference to the output level from the mic.

Setting Levels - USB / AppJust let the mic sort itself out by putting it into Auto-level mode or Manual mode will give you control over gain, equaliser pre-sets, compression and a limit function. UsabilityThis product is flexible and simple to use with a very good at making your make-shift studio sound like a professional set up. Build quality is excellent (all metal) and on par with other Shure Microphones, such as the SM57, 58 & the SM7B.
