Belle’s Middle Grade

What a hauntingly beautiful book! It is so touching and profound but remains so accessible and engaging. It is, between the boards, 119 pages of wisdom and kindness, with the tiniest smidge of troll peril, and lots and lots of heart.

To begin with, it's not a daunting read at all. The Truth Pixie, a character cursed to always speak truthfully no matter the consequences, finds that her honesty often loses her friends. But, for such a small book, it carries so many important messages and provides so much comfort for people going through all sorts of difficulties from anxiety to grief.

This book is really touching. Beautiful cover & full of beautiful illustrations inside by Chris Mould too. My girls liked it so much that I had to draw their favourite quote for their bedroom wall.

The man is a writer of modern classics that I hope will live on. Beautiful book, with a wonderful message. ‘There will be people you love, Who can’t stay forever, And there will be things you can’t fix, Although you are clever. The description of it being "Reasons To Stay Alive for seven year olds" is not wrong!
