I highly recommend Ramadan Reflections and although it is intended to be read during the blessed month, this book brings reminder upon reminder that will benefit no matter when it is read. Allah has put barakah in the pen and words of this author Allahumma baarik.

It can be read in huge, indulgent chunks, whilst snuggled in your comfiest chair with a cuddly blanket and favourite hot drink or can be dipped into sporadically when brief reading opportunities present themselves. It has given me hope. This book is a gift from Allah. It is guiding, but not controlling or patronising.
