I also liked how the LGBTIA+ characters were handled as the story dealt with the sexuality/gender identity issues while including it as a genuine part of the narrative and not as throw away plot point. As the friends reunite, the lies start to build and the truth becomes murky as all three of them along with Bella look equally guilty and have compelling motives to do away with Evelyn. Hidden secrets and alliances start to unravel as they get closer to the truth. Will the true killer really be found out or will Bella go down for a crime she didn’t commit?

I was sent a copy of this book for review. I was hooked on the plot as it showed how betrayal, traumas and broken homes really affected these four young people, how they processed love/affection and how their mental health has suffered in different ways.

As Raven was sent away to Boarding School years ago and Lily ended up in a Wellness Facility, proving Bella's innocence wasn’t going to be straight forward. I look forward to reading more from this author. I was intrigued by the strange and complex relationships these 4 friends created and how they splintered after Raven's departure. It had plenty of twists, red herrings and potential guilty characters.

The story was gripping and I raced along through the chapters eager to know how it ended. Three years later Evelyn turns up dead from Belladonna poisoning and the Recipe for the Perfect Murder not far from the body.

At 14, Poppy, Lily and Belladonna (Bella) made a Recipe for the Perfect Murder which planned a tea spiked with a petal of Poppy, Lily and Belladonna in order to poison their friend Raven's stepmother, Evelyn, who was making him suicidal. The last Jack knew, Lily had hidden the note but was locked in the facility so how did it end up with Evelyn's body. I give it 🌟🌟🌟🌟.

Poppy, who now goes by Jack, is tasked with finding out who really killed her and proving Bella's innocence. Before they carried out the plan, one of them stepped in and stopped the murder attempt.
