This bandage is used by the US Military, Israeli Armed Forces, and many Emergency Medical Technicians. He severed his artery on his wrist among other muscles and tendons.

They had to apply several abdominal pads and wrapping to control the blood before loading her up in the ambulance. The vacuum pack is very good, and it fit nicely onto my IFAK kit , thinning it down considerably from having triangles and/or multiple other band/pad combos. The US Armed Forces started using it in the Iraq War because it reduced trauma injury death significantly.

She's currently recovering as this happened just two days ago. They have a manufacture’s date of Nov 2019, meaning they are just a year old at the time of purchase.

I purchased several of these over the last few years to keep in my vehicles (along with a basic first aid kit), and for my shooting range kit, just in case. But if you're like me and bought this "just in case", odds are you've got the mindset already to do this job with socks and a shoelace in a bind anyways so even if it's not "hospital grade" when you tear it open, you will be happy to have it regardless. I came back to review this as I order 2 more.

The bandages worked great, and I hope I never have to use one again. Unopened, so I can't speak to the band itself. Big area of sterile cotton.
