I was quoted over £1500 for new covers for a 3 piece sofa set (armchair and 2 x 2-seater sofas) and instead did it myself for £150. It’s maybe not as grey as the artificially lit picture makes it seem but I like it and I’m going to wear it!

One tub of dye and they came out well too. Wash the fabric on a 40* wash with detergent (I added some liquid Vanish for good measure) then open the pods and place them in the washing machine under the damp fabric - you can use up to 5 pods at a time.

I have a 5 year old washing machine. All in all very easy to use, no mess left in machine and no shell what so ever. I tried this with a 20 year old denim jacket and I like the results. Easy to use and great results.

considering we had ivory coloured curtains and I used 5 packs (worked out due to weight of pair of curtains) I'm a little disappointed. I am going to use the same dye to paint on the bases of the sofa when I get round to it.

I fit all of the covers back onto the cushions and sofas while damp as it allowed me to stretch the fabric into place - for my first dye run with just cushion covers I dried them before refitting and they were a pain to get back on and I ended up having to make them damp again so that they’d stretch a little. The overall colour is uniform and any wobbly bits are a result of the poor camera, not the dye. One pod will do 600g of DRY fabric weight and my standard sized washing machine (it’s not even a large load capacity) could handle the largest sofa cover at 2500g.
