I was really trying to get my hands on it and then Tandem Collective UK came through for me and of course I loved it as much as I knew I would. Anyway - I nearly read the book on holiday, except I kept falling asleep because holidays are exhausting, particularly when I got my wheelchair stuck in a hole, had to be rescued and nearly wet myself laughing - so I only read half the book on holiday. Just read it ok!

Im an avid reader and lover of Romance books and Mhairi does these so well, but with that extra emotional punch. I love that her books aren’t all fluffy and hearts and flowers, but have a gritty realistic element that makes it a more relatable Romance. ⁣⁣Thank you to Netgalley and Harper Collins Uk for a copy of this book.

but sometimes you want cake, not a super hot spicy curry! As ever, this is everything chick-lit should be, and more. Firstly, I'd like to thank Tandem Collective UK and Harper Collins UK for the gifted copy of Mad About You for an honest review. Apparently photos will help this review - I don't have any photos of my Kindle and its a bit knackered and battered now so, enjoy this totally irrelevant drawing of some guinea pigs I did a while ago for a purpose I now forget.

It was great to see a respectful relationship blossom. Mhairi McFarlane's books always have such depth and its why I love her works so much because of how well she explores these difficult subjects in such excellent books! give it a go (I like all those things too, I mean I'll read the back of the shampoo bottle.

Mhairi tempers things with a dose of reality - but not so much as to make the story too gritty or grim. Of course there is a romance element but I would say that is a secondary part of this book.

He didn't take over the 'show' but let her do her thing and was always there after when she needed someone. Basically if you like to read stories that are funny, and friendly, and warm, and a bit exciting and don't have gore and murder and rogue police officers so on. After reading and loving Mhairi’s last two novels, I can confidently say she will be an auto buy author for me from now on! If you like chick-lit, read this book.

For every 'nah it wouldn't happen' situation. But by far the best part of this book is that it is set in my home city of Leeds.
