The narrative style is very tongue-in-cheek, and makes light of serious situations (much like Magnus does) but has some heart to it. In my opinion, every book in the Shadowhunter universe is always made better by the appearance or main feature of Magnus Bane. Actual rating 4.

I laughed out loud so many times that this book has become my instant most favourite book of the Shadowhunter universe to date. If you enjoyed him in the main series, you'll enjoy this book. So having a whole book dedicated to his hilarious, decadent, ridiculous and sometimes moving antics through the centuries was thrilling, fun and just what I wanted in my life. It's a book with plenty of stories throught the years with Magnus Bane.

I loved this! i like having these deeper insights, a deeper understanding of wills father and james. It also shows how he still cares for her because he is shocked to find her in a compromised state and tries to help her. Read about his life before he met Alec, Simon, Clary and Jace.

he’s a perfect character. It shares the story of how Magnus met Raphael Santiago, the young-looking vampire and how their long-standing yet snarky friendship had its beginnings which is both bittersweet and hilarious. overall great!

) came in perfect condition, the novella series itself was absolutely entertaining just like all of her other works. We get some background on his relationship with his ex-lover the vampire Camille and how their parting affected him. It doesn’t necessarily expand the Shadowhunter universe any, but if you love the Magnus/Alec pairing than this is catnip for you.
