Even if you raise the machine up to accommodate a taller pitcher, it doesn't build up enough steam to properly froth more than 8-10 oz of milk at a time. Much faster and more efficient! e.

Would instantly recommend that model again. I used a De'Longhi combination espresso maker/coffee pot for 6 years. I was about to give up, but I decided to turn the grinder to its finest setting and give it 1 more try.

There is quite a bit a vibration while it’s brewing, but not really a big deal. There’s a cup warmer built into the maker, but not really a selling point for me. I will abstain to use this option for real.

I'm coming up (or just passed) about the three year mark using one of my EC155 machines (one is used much more than the other) and I can say that I've just about reached the end of the machine's lifetime. UPDATE August 2018Yesterday, the machine started acting strange: it hardly pushed out any water when brewing, and the pump made strange noises, like some pushy sound of revving up and slowing down.

A decent grinder is critical. I get best results by steaming the milk right before pulling the shot (single boiler means you can't do both at once), then swirling/conditioning the milk while the shot is pulling (do it the other way around and the shot will go flat before the milk is ready). If you remove the stainless steel top from the drip pan you gain little over an extra inch of space, but it is still tight and easy to spill when trying to remove the cup filled with coffee.
