About this deal

At the bottom of a bottle, with a family in pieces, unable to adapt to a civilian lifestyle, yearning for a warzone? Some books MAY have a red or black dot or line on the edge of the page by the spine. His incredible story features hardened criminals, high-speed car chases, counter-terrorism and humanitarian heroics - freeing children from a trafficking ring in Thailand. Whether serving in the Special Forces, rowing oceans or investigating some of the world's most notorious drug cartels, Jason Fox has overcome more than his fair share of these emotional and mental battles. Some pressures threaten to crush us mentally, others cause stress, anxiety and self-doubt. Ollie has faced break points in his personal life too, surviving a freak childhood attack, run-ins with the law as a teenager rebelling against a broken home, his self-destructive battles with alcohol and drug addiction, and his struggles with anxiety and depression. My holiday read for this year, absolutely gripping from the offset. Jason’s honest account of his depression, PTSD and Burnout was truly inspiring, he had me smiling, in tears and gasping as I turned the pages. Brilliant Book showing that the members of the special forces are only human and that with the right help they can come out the other side ok.

The paperback is really good value too! An heartfelt tale of the journey of mental health.

I fully understand how easy it is to lose motivation and direction in a career and life you once lived to the full. As a author myself and sufferer of military mental health. A brutally honest portrayal of a special elite Soldier not only fighting a war on the ground , home life and PTSD.

Thank you Foxy for opening up and raising the awareness of mental health. I really like Foxy on SAS so thought my stepdad would like this alongside a submariner book I also got him.

Bought as a gift for my stepfather who's an ex submariner. A true Hero 🇬🇧 I was interested to read another authors story of living with mental health.

I could relate to many of Jason's struggles. I read this book in a day I could not put it down. He's an avid reader and this book looks great, right up his alley. His reflection and accounts of his time in therapy with Alex reminded me of my own journey through counselling.

Highly recommended.
