These are supposed to be rock hard, thats the way they are made and have always been made. Some people eat them as is, which is also fine, just check your teeth as they are quite hard.

For all the people leavinf reviews saying these are rock hard, they clearly aren’t South African! They are meant to be eaten and dipped into a cup of coffee or even better, a rooibos tea! These are delicious and will always take me back to growing up in South Africa.
