Once installed you can see from the photos and the SMART info, they are EFRX (CMR) drives with only the 2 hours use they have been in the NAS. e.

PRO ⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️ 🔲 For those unfamiliar with it, Western Digital is the world's leading manufacturer of hard drives and has a long history as an integrated circuit manufacturer. After so many years of honorable service, one of the 2 disks of my Synology DS214Play NAS has stopped working.

The 3 TB disk as a single drive for system backups. The CMR process is also used for WD Red Plus HDDs up to 14 TB if anyone is wondering whether SMR may be used for higher capacities. but so far, so good. Personally I would not use them.

Unfortunately, there is not always a perfect product allocation in terms of reviews. not SMR - Shingled Magnetic Recording, which results in poorer transfer rates) and are therefore ideally suited for RAID.

I immediately discarded the RED series, being based on SMR technology. Other experiences may have been made with products other than those mentioned.
