The tape pulled all of the flaked part of the paint off the wall. It doesn’t pull the paint off when removed and gives super crisp lines with no bleed.

DUST OFF the surface (This is the most important step) and then I applied 2 coats of vinyl matt emulsion (orange in my case). :) overall I’m happy!

The walls had been painted white a couple days earlier and it hadn’t taken off any of the paint from the wall at all. HOWEVER, for the pink and yellow hexagons I used two completely different brands (pink was Farrow & Ball, the most expensive tester pot I used at £5, and the yellow had been GoodHome, the cheapest tester pot I used at £1. The paint bled through the masking tape and so the lines weren't 'clean'.

I'll try to explain step by step so everyone can understand how to use this tape without pulling off the paint. I put a mist coat first (watery matt emulsion) and then light sanding down. Also, I have been re-using this tape as even when you peel it off, it still works!

After repainting out Union Jack, we can't say the lines are 'perfect', there's the odd bleed through, but it's 10x better and after a few minor fixes it'll be as good as we'd hoped. Removed with no issues and did rip off any paint. JUST AFTER I finished rolling, I removed the masking tape. I'd probably go for the green version for a 'new' wall or this yellow version for a wall you've recently painted.
