Reviews

Helen A. Austin

The mansion and its two residents are in a state of failing health and Easton alongside the Usher’s family friend and doctor, James Denton, endeavour to root out the cause of their illnesses. With strange fungi growing around the grounds and even stranger hares that watch his every move, Easton grows more suspicious of the flora and fauna surrounding the house.

RatingsHorror: ☠️☠️Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐Characters: ⭐️⭐️⭐⭐Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐ Told from the point of view of a loyal friend of the Usher family who visits their dilapidated mansion after receiving a distressing letter from Madeline Usher.

👏 I am so excited to read the next instalment of Alex Easton’s adventures in What Feasts at Night which is coming February 2024! There are some scenes depicting animal dissection which some people might find upsetting but these are integral to the plot and happen towards the end of the story.

Kingfisher elaborates on parts of the original work, such as Madeline's illness and reasoning behind what transpires in the final chapters, down to the mushrooms themselves! ♡The novella is a quick Gothic read, meaningfully so. Kingfisher 🍄🐰Re-telling of The Fall of the House of Usher!

I do love that T. What Moves the Dead is a 170-page novella Written by T.

What Moves the Dead by T. Despite being a short novella I initially struggled to get into the story and have been dipping in and out of this book for the last couple of weeks.
