I love learning new things through fiction. You are totally transported to the world of Cyn (both of them and indeed how they collide). Everything was top notch. Wow inlove with everyone except Thomas 😂 I grew up reading YA novels but nothing beats this.

And it is sort of like your best friend telling you the story. Through your book I visited emotions and thoughts I have surpressed for years. I also loved the celebration of black beauty through the description of the characters.

Coming from a family where I have experienced the full effect of knife crime and death. Set in London and a small town outside London, this story follows a young Black girl and her family as they deal with the aftermath of a devastating event. It is brilliant. I have no words apart from profound.

I have indirectly been affected by knife crime and as someone who grew up in council estates across London with gangs on every corner, this book really put things into perspective for me. Never read books, couldn’t even tell you why I bought it, BUT my goodness finished this book in 4 days. I have decided to stop saying that I don’t like reading YA because this is the second one I have really enjoyed in as many months. Your book ‘cut both ways’ really hit different.
