All of the illustrations are so fun to look at and I love how despite the simple drawings, the ilustration of the King does actually look a bit like King Charles! This is a fun and rather silly picture book all about the King and his many different pants (for those in the US reading this we’re talking about underpants)! This paperback is a little larger than A4 in size and is filled with thick glossy pages of illustrations and text.

When the King’s pants go missing a bunch of search dogs are enlisted to help find them all, and through the story we learn about some of the very different and silly pants that the King has including some interesting boxers and some very sparkly looking coronation pants! The illustrations are so fun to look at, they really make you laugh and there are some interesting looking pants in the King’s collection and some funny moments seen when his pants go missing (I love those cows) and are later found.

but when the King goes travelling, the sack full of his different pants gets accidently mixed up with a royal mail sack of letters, and soon his pants end up in household around the country rather than with the King. What will the King do? -Thanks to Andersen Press for a free copy. Similar theme to the queens knickers, a good introduction to designing different pants for the king with a purpose.

The King has many different pants: everyday pants, weekend pants, coronation pants, etc. This is such a funny and silly story. Overall a great, funny and silly story, but one that I’m sure lots of children will enjoy looking at again and again, and a great book to celebrate the King’s Coronation too, especially as a fun way of introducing the King as the new monarch to children.

The story is very silly, but I love the humour in this and the illustrations add to this very well. The last part of the story is funny too, though I’m not sure that what is mentioned should actually be asked to the King if he should ever visit you one day! My 4 year old found this hilarious.
