I followed instructions and went with power setting 3 to make my waffles. The lid is a little loose and does NOT float, so not sure why it's that way. Made the first waffle, followed instructions, waited for the indicator to turn green, it was perfectly formed, did bit stick.

I will add that I do not get the spillage that people seem to get in the images. The slider temperature arm is, indeed, a POS -- but it still works. This one was equally delicious and the dog was pretty stoked that I didn't give up. She doesn't judge when the waffle served to her is split.

I'm going to try someone's suggestion to put the waffles through 2-3 "cycles" to get crisper waffles. I don't need a perfectly round waffle, I'm not IHOP. I gave some to the dog and she was pretty happy. It was that moment that I realized I hated waffle irons or that I recall hating them.

Easy to useQuick cleanupStores easilyCons:Plastic timer dial thing is well, plastic and cheap. Unlike cast-iron for example. I moved more towards 4 for the second waffle and it was a little darker. For $30 this is a keeper.

I was looking for a classic American style waffle maker and delighted to find this. What I love about it:- It's very slim and doesn't take up much space on kitchen shelf, which comes in handy in a small kitchen- a green light comes on when the waffle maker is preheated and ready to go- this light then turns red when the batter has been poured and turns green once your waffle is done cooking- temperature can easily be adjusted with a sliding knob- waffles come out evenly cooked (you might have to play with the temperature settings a little bit)What I don't like:- the machine feels a little bit flimsy- since the waffle maker can't be submerged into water, it makes it hard to clean (but that's the case with all waffle makers) >>> I learned that cleaning it right away with a wet soapy rag once it has cooled off is the easiest They don't stick, and the colored light tells you when they're ready.
