There were so many cleverly written characters, where most would produce superficial insincere characteristics and histories, but within these pages it felt like you knew them personally. There are lots of different characters focused on in this book, all with their own back story and reason for interconnecting with each other at a beachfront hostel in Venice Beach, LA.

Venice Beach, Los Angeles. This book got me out of such a reading slump! But for eight strangers at a beach front hostel, there is far more on their mind than an extended vacation.

I was so excited when this came out I love John Marrs’ books! . All their stories unfold, interlock and create an exciting dark adventure where their pasts are only a piece of what’s to come…LOVED this book!

I wasn't able to second guess any of the twists and turns and loved the way every last thread was tied up at the end. Tommy, Jake, Savannah, Eric, Nicole, Ruth, Matty and Declan each have their own reasons how they ended up there, all with a twisted tale including death, trauma and obsession. I found all of theirs backstories enthralling and I could hardly put it down. It was a thrill to read and I loved it, fantastically written.

This is my first John Marrs book but it definitely won't be my last! All of them are running from something. I didn’t even know it was an updated version of Welcome to Wherever you are - which I hadn’t read yet! Originally published as Welcome to Wherever You Are, this is a re-edited releaseA complex narrative that cleverly alternates between 8 strangers past and present lives and how they inevitably collide l was totally drawn towards Savannah,Tommy and Nicole stories.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a clever twisty book with extensive deep-seated characters. Love John Marrs books, my favourite ever being The One. I loved his style of writing and the short, snappy chapters and was totally reeled in from the very first page. The short snappy chapters meant l flew through it trying to guess how this compelling mystery thriller would end.

And they all have secrets they’d kill to keep…. I was gripped from the beginning and enjoyed learning more about every character. Sometimes so many different characters can be confusing, however, this book is so well written that I found it really easy to identify with each of them and didn't find it overwhelming. The book is fast paced and intriguing and I found myself completely drawn in to each of the storylines, eagerly flipping the pages to discover what would happen next.
