Simply press the tab down and turn the adapter clockwise (you may have to press and hold the tab while twisting the adapter off initially). Make sure the set pin is initially located about a half inch from the hole in the base and then turn the adapter into its locked position. Have a manual Nikkor lens on a Canon 5D Mark III.

Beware: The adapter turns counter clockwise to engage the set pin in the hole in the lens base. The tricky part is removing the adapter, but in reality it is VERY EASY! It fits snugly with no play, and it’s easy enough to remove it from the lens.
