Written as satire, this book stuck with me as I read and has done ever since. There’s a cool balance of humor and deep thinking about where art comes from.

Things get wild when Athena chokes at a party, and this sets off a roller-coaster ride of mystery and adventure. .

Matt Peet

It reminded me a little of Poe's Tell-Tale Heart and the hysteria and paranoia that accompanies guilt. I didn’t get dark humour or thriller as advertised but I didn’t miss it. I really disliked June, she was so selfish and thought about herself and never about anyone else. A brilliant, captivating read.

I picked this book up on a recommendation and was immediately sucked into the story and haven’t been able to put it down since. I think this would be a great bookclub pick because there is so much to discuss.

5 starsThis book is written in the first person (so buckle up to be in Junes head) The author has created a fantastic morally grey character and I found myself frustrated of her being aware her actions are wrong but equally totally justifying those actions, she’s definitely a character you’ll love to hate! This book is fast paced, you will find yourself turning the page to see what happens next.

Highly recommend if you’ve been thinking about picking it up, my number 1 read of 2023. I really enjoyed this book but I’m not really sure how to even begin to write my review for it.

Sally Machelan

It’s like a ride that makes you think long after you’ve finished. It certainly didn’t go the way I expected it to either. I’ve told quite a few people about it to date. The plotline itself tackles cancel culture, ethics, cultural appropriation, racism & diversity.
