(This was the same review i wrote for the pens themselves, but using this ink so i shall include as such)(on a note for the ink i love that it's a quick dry and never get it on my hand while writing! I am new but have done a lot of research to try to find my best deal for a reasonable price being a beginner unsure how I'd like the difference as many others recommend getting a cheaper option if new.

I recommend doing research instead into a good quality paper for fountain pens though. This seems to be everyone’s recommendation so i bought it. Both are wonderfully smooth, glid wonderfully.

Waterproof ink - so you can watercolour over it once it’s dry. This is a great ink for people who need to write documents, documents that need photocopies etc or people who do art or in need of a true black ink. The most important thing for me was that I use this at work and it MUST be waterproof/indelible.

One is with a drop of water and a drop of 96% ethanol dropped onto it to see if it diffuses at all. The second picture is after I have deliberately run my finger across to try to smudge it. I have re-uploaded the images because Amazon displays them in a random order rather then the order I upload them so annotations make them easier to understand.

Be careful not to get it everywhere, it does stain your hands and furniture. I love it very much. Right off the bat the colour is spot on, a REALLY deep black that's even blacker than my previous Diamine Onyx Black. I used a syringe to refill the disposable ink tube that came with Pilot Metropolitan after the ink used up.

The two pens were both purchased on Amazon and are such, "Jinhao X159 Black Acrylic Fountain Pen # 8 Fine Nib Gold Trim for Writing and Calligraphy with Refill Ink Converter" (from the Lanxivi Store) and "PILOT Metropolitan Collection Fountain Pen, Black Barrel, Classic Design, Medium Nib, Black Ink (91107)" (from the PILOT store). I used "Platinum Carbon Ink Bottle 60ml - Black" (Brand: PLATINUM). This makes it a very smooth ink to write with.
