This was a standard yoga mat and the color was perfect. It is nice and textured which makes it feel spongy/cushiony. It is nice and sticky so when I plant my feet and hands they really do stay. I've posted some photos and hope that they along with my experience helps you a bit with your choice.

I've been using this 5mm mat for about a week now. This mat may be a bit more expensive than other yoga mats but considering Gaiam guarantees it for life one could consider it a sound, one-time investment. - Thickness. I'll probably end up spraying it with Lysol as I want something with proven disinfection abilities against specific pathogens rather than more holistic essential oils used in some yoga mat cleaners, each of which professes some disinfection properties but to my knownledge none which are rated for actually disinfecting 99.

Another plus for me is that it's considerably lighter in weight which makes bringing it back and forth to the studio a breeze. However, the color was much brighter than the picture that was advertised. S.
